Tricia Reich is a project engineer at Layton Construction with a passion for mentorship, career growth, and leadership development. Her career journey took her from administrative roles to becoming a key player in large-scale construction projects. She shares her story to inspire others to take initiative, raise their hands, and create their own opportunities in the industry.Tricia’s path to becoming a construction professional is as inspiring as it is impressive. After joining Layton Construction as a project assistant and completing their first-ever Amazon fulfillment center, she joined an 80-person management team to complete the 32-building Utah State Correctional Facility. Following the nudging of her leaders and contemporaries, she embarked on an educational journey, balancing full-time work and obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Business Management.
As a new graduate—and a new grandma—Tricia was promoted to project engineer before setting her sights even higher. She's completed her Master's degree in Construction Management.Being a mother of two sons and eldest sister of four brothers, she feels right at home in the traditionally male-dominated industry. And she proudly declares, “I’m probably the oldest PE in the company.”Tricia attributes much of her professional success to staying curious, asking questions, and paying attention to detail. She finds purpose in the collaborative culture of the construction process and enjoys working with diverse teams. Outside of work, she enjoys a healthy work-life balance, and cherishing time with family.
