In this episode, Jerry Daleiden tells the story of how he ended up choosing engineering because the Dean of Architecture said it would be a good fit for him. He talks about how important it is to be flexible and to know when to take a chance on a new opportunity because sometimes opportunities just come your way. James and Jerry discuss how to achieve balance in life and work. Jerry’s story shows that it is possible to achieve success no matter what your background or interests may be if you are willing to put in the effort.
Here’s a bit about Jerry’s passion:
Jerry has been involved in the design, maintenance, and research of pavements and their performance for over 35 years. He has been responsible for the evaluation and/or design of numerous pavement projects around the world. These analyses range from projections of remaining life to the design of rehabilitation alternatives to nationally sponsored projects using various innovative technologies for pavement assessment.
